NIKHIL BANERJEE - Hemant 1970

Nikhil Banerjee (R.I.P) was one of the best Indian sitarists ever. He had a spiritual depth which is rare among sitarists and others of the Indian classical music scene. Hemant from 1970 is a prime example of this. You get a depth and vibe which must be experienced to be believed. I got this originally from the excellent Henry's Archive blog. P.D Ouspensky - The Psychology of mans possible evolution

I figured it's time this blog diversifies itself to sharing books as well as music. Peter Ouspensky was the for most disciple of G.I Gurdjieff, a esoteric mystic who brought to the west a esoteric teaching called esoteric Christianity (prehistoric Egyptian root of all the western religions) or the fourth way as he also called it.

"The psychology of mans possible evolution"is an introduction to the fourth way. It's a good beginning if one wants to explore this teaching. I read this 10 years ago and it had a profound effect on me. Hope it enlightens you as well. Best to you all.

RAVI SHANKAR - JOGESHWARI

Another excellent deep raga from Ravi Shankar. This time in the vein of Nikhil Banerjee, a single long deep raga thats more for the soul and spirit than for the showcasing fast fingers which many ragas are prone to develop into. This is a definite personal favorite. Enjoy it friends!
