USTAD MOHAMMAD OMAR - Virtuoso from Afghanistan

It's once again time for more great classical music from Afghanistan. Together with Essa Kassimi (hear his album as well), Ustad Mohammad Omar (R.I.P) was one of the best rubab players from Afghanistan. This is deep and highly spiritual music that with entice and enlighten you. On this recording, Ustad Mohammad Omar teamed up with Indian tabla master Zakir Hussain, who he had not meet before this session. Anyway they both work together perfectly and the end result is sheer magic. Enjoy this friends and support classical music of Afghanistan.
Peace be on you all.

I followed your previous site in its final days, and recovered most of the treasures within (missing one compilation, however). I don't know what forces closed your site, but I must have some advice on searching out one gem in particular.

C. Frog. You know the one. Where can I hear this album?

I closed that blog because the owner of the said Ceptic Frog tape told me he spent $1000s unearthing gems like it and didn't like having them spread for free. The guy with Ceptic Frog will not reissue it. He has a label in Texas. I have forgotten the name. That is one reason.

The other reason is that the medium of rock music has it's limits and I want to develop and therefore I wanted to leave this music behind. I took the blog to it's limits and I have gone on.

It was a conscious choice from my part. No one deleted it.

Best to you all.

I appreciate your quick response; I'm glad to have things cleared up. I cannot say I agree with the owner's opinions, but I am glad you feel good about moving in a different direction.

I know you will probably not feel comfortable with sending me a digital copy of the record, but is there any contact information you can give me? I live in Texas, and may be able to figure something out. I love collecting these proto-metal psych rock pieces, and I think music this obscure should have its chance to be heard by anyone who wishes to. I feel it is a disrespect to the band members to not allow their music to be heard.

Thank you very much for your time, and for your dedication to unique music.
